Anxiety

Jessa wrote this song as a way to process and find acceptance in her ongoing battle with mental health. Struggling with anxiety on a daily basis, she aimed to transform something she once viewed as negative into a source of positivity and empowerment.

Burnin'

Jessa wrote this song to express her experiences living with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), a complex condition she has learned to accept and manage. Despite the challenges and moments when it feels overwhelming, her goal was to provide a candid portrayal of what living with mental illness is truly like. Through this song, she aimed to create a safe and understanding space for others who are also navigating the realities of BPD.

Dreamin'

Inspired by a collaboration with BoogeyTheBeat, Jessa stepped out of her comfort zone to create an EDM/Dance track. As she was moving out of her "sad girl" era, this song marked a transition to self-love and embracing life as it comes—carefree and letting go of the tough days.

Forever

This project remains one of Jessa's most cherished endeavors. She regards MattMac as family, almost like a younger brother, and it was profoundly moving to witness his extraordinary, God-given talent in the studio. The experience not only deepened their connection but also had a lasting impact on her creative journey.

Facade

"Facade" was written during a period when Jessa felt she wasn’t living authentically. While she presented herself as a healthy, kind, and sober individual, she was secretly struggling behind the scenes. The song, along with its music video, served as a bold way to reveal the contrast between her public image and private reality, allowing her audience to see the vulnerability she had been hiding.

We're Not Lost

Jessa wrote this song as a celebration of her pride in being a Cree woman and to highlight the richness and beauty of Indigenous culture. Frustrated by the stigma often directed at her people, she wanted to send a powerful message to those who doubted or misunderstood: the Cree are not lost and are here to stay.

Surrender

"Surrender" was written the day Jessa emerged from detox following her eighth suicide attempt. Born from one of the darkest periods of her life, the song reflects the moment she finally surrendered to her reality. It stands as a deeply personal and transformative turning point in her journey.

On My Own

Jessa wrote this song to confront intergenerational trauma, her experiences of childhood sexual abuse, and her struggles with alcohol. With a commitment to honesty, she aimed to share her personal journey openly, hoping to offer solace and connection to others facing similar challenges. By reflecting on both her past and present, she sought to help listeners feel less alone in their own struggles.
